The Dream Come True Foundation is proud to announce Heather J. Brunner as the recipient of our 2017 Community Dream Achiever Award. Ms.Brunner is preceded by prestigious community leaders who have received the award, including former Austin Chief of Police Art Acevedo, Austin Mayor Steve Adler, longtime East Austin community leader and educator Bishop Dr. Sterling Lands II, and Eugene Sepulveda, CEO of the Entrepreneurs Foundation.
The Community Dream Achiever Award Winner is given to someone who embodies DCTF’s mission of achievement by personally moving far beyond their beginnings to achieve at the highest level and impact Austin in unique and powerful ways. Brunner is Chairwoman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of WP Engine. With over 27 years of technology expertise, Heather has helped create billions in value, driven customer success, and led business strategy and global expansion for privately-funded new ventures and Fortune 500 companies. Before WP Engine, Brunner served as COO of Bazaarvoice, was Chief Executive Officer of Nuvo, and held many executive positions at leading technology companies. “I can’t imagine anyone more deserving,” says DCTF co-founder Carol Kallendorf. “Heather’s journey has taken her very far from her beginnings, and she models the drive, achievement, and extraordinary talent that is the vision of Dream Come True.” Brunner will receive the award at Dreams of the Old West, the Foundation’s annual fall gala.
